Look to your left and try not to be jealous. I looked like a director even before I knew I was one. With the calculated cool of my worn and tattered shoes and the strategically short pants that call attention to said footwear, obviously something was happening that even I wasn't aware of. As for the bike... don't get me started.

And don't hold it against me that I ironed my hair at the tender age of eleven. I was that rare combination of a young man with a vision, who was also extremely near sighted. Let's face it... you're looking at a risk taker. You wanna piece of me?

Fran Solomita directed and produced the award-winning, documentary "When Stand Up Stood Out" which appeared on Showtime and was released on DVD. The film (which was produced by Hieroglyphic Productions) examines the stand-up comedy explosion of the 1980s. Fran's work as a comedian and writer spans more than 20 years, with appearances on "The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson on CBS, as well as work on Comedy Central, MTV, NBC and FOX.

For eight successful years Fran worked as Creative Director/Special Projects & Radio Promotion at NBC. He directed the high profile "LMAO" spot promoting NBC's Comedy line-up, which aired in Super Bowl 43 and received Top 5 status among all commercials in the broadcast. During his time at the network, he also launched "The Office", "30 Rock", "NBC's Sunday Night Football", "Heroes", "Chuck", "Las Vegas", The Olympics and many more. More recently, Fran directed a series of commercials starring Selena Gomez for Sears and Disney Channel.

Solomita created the break-through "Fake Radio Show" campaign for NBC, winning him New York Festival's World Medal. He's won 18 Promax/BDA Gold Awards, 2 National Media Prizes and the prestigious Brandon Tartikoff Award. Before Joining NBC, Fran worked for 2 years in comedy promotion at ABC.

Originally from Massachusetts, Fran has been living in Los Angeles for 18 years now where he enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
